Nothing makes me happier than learning new things and progressing! This new year has already had great progress and I am just delighted to see it all come about!

It started with this a few months back (getting the land for the orchard ready). Then this last month we had 3 more semi trucks of wood chips delivered! And we hired someone to come move it all over our property.

It is also that time of year to plant fruit trees, and we have wanted fruit trees for a long time now! So I was extremely excited to get some planted!!

We now have 14 trees, pomegranate, 2 nectarine, peach, 2 apple, 2 cherry, fig, plum, apricot, pear, mulberry and almond. We are hoping to get some citrus in too, but we will see how the $$$ holds up! LOL

I really want to focus on getting most of my veggies/fruit from our own yard this next season, so we decided to double the size of our garden to accommodate everything we want to plant.

We have been working on getting the wood chips spread all over and have started planting! Jess got the new water lines installed yesterday and we are set for success. I foresee lots and lots of planting in my future, lol. We already have things sprouting, peas, spinach, carrots, lettuce, beets and celery. I did cheat and planted a couple rows of transplants, brussel sprouts, cabbage, spinach, broccoli and cauliflower. I needed something to get my spirits up, after all this hard work, I needed to see some instant gratification!! We have strawberry, blackberry and grapes plants on their way in a couple weeks as well as potatoes. Let the growing season begin!!
