Happy New Year

2013_clock

As you are contemplating and making your New Years Resolutions, let me put an idea out there to consider. There is a great need in our area for good quality real food products. I get emails and phone calls often (as Chapter Leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation) asking for sources as people are becoming aware of the dilemma with our food system and as they desire to become healthier. Sickness and disease is showing up in younger and younger children. Parents are struggling to find answers to help heal their children and family members. The struggle I see popping up is the demand is rising, and the supply is very limited. I would like to encourage those who feel so inspired to rise up and join those of us trying to make a small difference in our food system and community. If you have land, or want land, we are in great need of small family farms that offer nutrient dense foods, even if only on a very small scale. If you have chickens, consider adding a few more to your flock, there is a huge demand for pastured organically raised antibiotic free soy and corn free chicken eggs. Most people live in a community with HOA’s and don’t have the option to have their own chickens yet. If you have a Jersey Cow and have extra milk, their are those looking for a Raw Jersey milk source that does not exist in our area, cow shares are a great idea. If you live in dirt, as most of us do, and want green to be able to raise animals that are properly fed as well as cut feed costs, I am in the process of proving that we can have green WITHOUT irrigation, using the seasons, healing the soil, and planting and getting it grown and established when it rains and before the heat hits. If you want to know more about how to do this without a huge water bill, talk to me!! Or come to our class http://davisfamilyorganicfarm.com/classes/ this month and find out how. If you need a source for good quality chicken feed, let me know, I will pass on info for a group in phoenix that we order with. It is the best price for fabulous feed that is hard to come by. If you have products and would like to be put in contact with those looking for your product, let me know. It can be as public or quiet as you like, just let me know what you want. I would love if we could as a community pull our resources together and start helping each other so we can all benefit and become stronger together. Looking forward to a Fabulous 2013!! Happy New Year everyone!!

Queen Creek/ San Tan Valley Chapter Leader

04 Saturday Feb 2012

This year has brought many changes already! One I would like to share is that I am now the Queen Creek/ San Tan Valley Chapter Leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation.

I have wanted for a while to find others involved in the same thing I am. I have struggled at times with learning how to cook real food and being able to find real food resources. It would have been nice to have someone hold my hand and show me the way and remind me that I could do it when I struggled. When I looked up the Weston A. Price Foundation to find someone in my area….there wasn’t anyone. So I have decided to do it!

I am excited to start organizing Real Food Info and Resources for my area. If you were wanting to learn more about Real Food or are already a member of the Weston A. Price Foundation, please email me nourishingrealfood@gmail.com and let me know your questions or ideas. I am putting together a list of resources and if you have any that you want to share, PLEASE, share. I would appreciate any and all help!

My goal is to put together a potluck dinner sometime in April. If you would like to be involved and don’t know what you can do, consider donating to the Queen Creek/ San Tan Valley Chapter. Donations help us put together activities and classes. I would like to start a monthly meeting. If it is even a couple dollars, it is so helpful!

Paving The Way

I am so grateful to those who have gone before me and paved the way for me to follow. I have always had something deep inside of me, calling to me, to seek and find truth. I am filled with a deep appreciation for people who have gone to great lengths to share information with people like me, who are so desperately searching for it.

Nourishing Our Children, is a project by the San Francisco Chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation. In this world of so many opinions about health, I have finally found refuge with their message.

Introduction to Traditional Eating

29 Thursday Dec 2011

Imagine a community of people where nearly every member was free of chronic disease, mental illness and even dental decay. Children and adults alike were strong, sturdy and attractive with wide faces and perfect smiles with plenty of room even for the wisdom teeth. Fertility came with ease and robust, intelligent, and happy children were produced generation after generation.

Sound like a utopia?
